Metallica & Lady Gaga‘s performance on the Grammy’s was superior. So awesome, in actual fact, that Metallica has been questioned about future collaborations with Gaga in the future. Drummer Ulrich says she’s the “quintessential fifth member of the band,” James Hetfield mentioned it’s not going to happen, and now Hammett talks Radio Rock that he isn’t too sure if it’s going to happen or not.
So yeah, the band is all very much on the same page about this.
“I don’t know what’s gonna happen in the future, I think it’s a bit of a stretch for us to say, ‘Yeah, we’re gonna do something in the future!’
“Maybe we will, maybe we won’t. But we kind of have a lot on our plate right now.”
I guess we do not really need Robert Trujillo to weigh in, considering Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, and James Hetfield have all of the answers covered! Personally, I believe the performance was superior, however an actual album with Lady Gaga on vocals might just come off as one thing forced.
