Cornell apparently committed suicide by hanging on Wednesday night (May 18) after SOUNDGARDEN performed a show in Detroit. He was 52 years old.
Chris Cornell‘s household issued a statement Friday questioning whether or not his loss of life by hanging was intentional and if “substances contributed to his demise.”
The family’s lawyer, Kirk Pasich, mentioned in a statement that the household would await the toxicology results to see if Ativan — the anti-anxiety prescription drug Cornell was taking — or other medicine contributed to his death.
“The household believes that if Cornell took his life, he didn’t know what he was doing, and that drugs or other substances might have affected his actions,” Pasich mentioned.
